How Far Along: 32 weeks and 5 days
Meds: All taken daily – prenatal vitamin, Omega 3 + DHA, Ranitidine (2x/day), Magnesium (250mg at bedtime as per my chiro’s recommendation), Gaviscon for heartburn as required (which is OFTEN!).
Just an FYI: I use the Honest Company Prenatal Complete Once Daily and DHA Complete. My Naturopath was very satisfied with the ingredient listing on these products. I used to use the Whole Food Prenatal, but I switched to the once daily when I was throwing up too much.
Baby is the size of: Florida Pomelo (WTF is this? Is it just because I’m Canadian that I’ve never had a Pomelo?) or a winter squash
Best Moments This Week:
- Nesting galore! I had a major energy surge this weekend. We cleaned and organized our entire basement. I also washed all the baby linens/blankets. I honestly don’t know where this energy came from! Last night I went to the grocery store and could barely finish my list without feeling exhausted.
- Having a BodyTalk session. O-M-G! Every time I have Bodytalk it fascinates me! My back actually feels way better since my session yesterday. I also love the intuition validation. I was pleased when quite a few issues I wanted to address came up in my session on both a physical and emotional level. Another lesson that came up was enjoying stillness before baby comes. I’ve been really busy and trying to cross everything off my baby list lately. She encouraged me to take more moments for myself as they will be less frequent after he arrives.
- Having multiple people tell me I’m smaller than they anticipated. I am torn on whether this is good or bad though? I just carry really low, but I guess it’s a good thing that people don’t like I look huge!
- Planning my Blessingway with my doula 🙂
- Going out for an evening to a session at my friend’s rock and crystal shop. I really needed this night out! It was great because it was relaxing and didn’t take a lot of energy from me.
Total Weight Gain: a total of 12.6 lbs. (Didn’t weigh myself again this week!!! Will do it for next week)
Maternity Clothes: I picked up a pair of leggings on the Thyme Maternity sale rack for $4. Fall is on it’s way and I need a few warmer options. I think that will be the last of my maternity purchases.
Symptoms:
- Low iron = SO TIRED. Last week, I was seriously low energy from Monday-Thursday.
- Energy spurt Friday to Sunday.
- Peeing constantly
- Sore hips/lower back – especially when sleeping
- Carpal tunnel in my right wrist. Wearing a brace makes it better. For anyone who had it, does it actually go away after baby comes?
Sleep: Ugh. This past week, I wake up to extremely sore hips, lower back and shoulders. I’ve been having hot showers in the morning or bubble baths at night. And doing lots of stretching to get the kinks out. My dreams have been crazy too especially since I get up so many times to pee. I don’t often get back to that deep level of sleep.
Food Cravings: Peaches, chocolate, ice cold water
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing new this week.
Movement: I find his movements to be more pronounced now except my husband always misses when my belly moves. I think I’ve also noticed he’s had a hiccups a few times. That sensation is different!
Stretch Marks: Yup – same location lower tummy and parallel with my belly button. When my tummy grows, they get itchy. I lather up with coconut oil every night.
Baby Bump: Growing and growing… With my nice wrist brace on.
Gender: BOY
Labour Signs: Nothing yet except maybe a few Braxton Hicks.
Belly Button In or Out?: Innie, but not much depth left.
Wedding Rings on or off?: Off due to the heat.
Happy or Moody?: I’ve been ok lately. My mood has been fairly level. I just find I get lonely as my husband is farming + working meaning he’s gone from the house for 12-14 hours a day. I work remotely so the lack of human contact can be hard some days, yet I also enjoy my alone time. I also had my first cry in a long time on Sunday night. My husband was grumpy from all the nesting and I didn’t appreciate his attitude. I know he works hard, but preparing for baby is important too. I am very fortunate that my husband does A LOT more than many of his friends, but sometimes I just wish he would see the up-side of our efforts rather than grumbling..
Purchases for baby:
- More hangers for the closet
- Closet dividers
- A pack of wash cloths
Purchases for Momma:
- Maternity leggings
- A Booby Trapper – excellent used condition for $10
Miss Anything?: Sleeping comfortably
Looking forward to:
- Receiving our rocking chair to finish the nursery.
- Receiving our mobile
- Being off work in 5 weeks WHOHOO!
You’re so close!!!

Also, my horrible carpel tunnel that started around week 24 was mostly gone a week after I gave birth, and was 100% gone by 6 weeks. And I had it BAD. Like, bad enough they thought I might have permanent nerve damage. But my hands are so good now and I appreciate a pain free work life every day!

Ah! So good to hear! Mine actually feels better today since my back loosened up a bit. It was pretty bad a few days last week. As long as there is an end in sight, I’ll be happy!

Not too much longer now, can’t believe you’re literally in the home stretch now. You look adorable! Sorry to hear about your wrist pain, that sucks!! I have closet dividers from the same etsy shop, how cool. I actually purchased them 3+ years ago, lol. So cute! Booby trapper is a must, $10 is a steal…you go girl!

I often try to pick Canadian sellers on Etsy to support local business if I can. Funny how you chose the same one when I’m sure there’s lots of them on there. The wrist is manageable. Often sorer in the evenings.

Lmao! They just must not have them in the prairie flatlands! 😉 I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them in grocery stores in Montreal, though perhaps not regularly. Your bump is bumpin!! Looking good lady! Braxton hicks already! Eek!

Just found your blog! Congratulations on your baby boy, hun!!! Boy, do I remember the 32nd week! I was anything BUT small… and water tasted magical! I’d drink like 5 or 6 liters of watter a day!!! My skin was great, btw! You’ll be sleeping comfortably in less than, well, 2 years I suppose! hehehe… but it’ll come!!! Can I ask you a question, since I’m new to Canada? Where can I shop online for baby hangers? I keep going into these US online stores and I’m not sure I can order from there! Thank you!

Welcome to Canada! I got mine in person at Superstore and Homesense. Online, I know that the Canadian sites for Babies R Us, Walmart or Amazon should have them.

Thank you! I’m gonna pay my first visit to the superstore right now!!!

You’re looking adorable Lindsey! Sucks about the carpel tunnel. It’s such a weird feeling. I’m glad you got yourself a brace for it.
I’m having the worst pregnancy insomnia. I seriously haven’t slept in 3 nights. And the practice contractions- I love them (means body is preparing for baby), but they also make me stop what I’m doing because they startle me a bit. I’m excited about them though.
Yay for only 5 more weeks of work! I am hoping to work as long as I can too, but figure that by Thanksgiving, I’ll be 37 weeks, and that’ll be a good time to get off my feet.
PS- I’m reading the Hypnobirthing book, and am loving it. They refer a lot to the class, and so I worry that I’m missing some integral information by not taking the course. I do think though, that the language used in the book, and the approach to birth fits so perfectly with how I envision Dumplin’s birth to be. Thanks again for sending me the book and CD 🙂

It’s actually feeling better since I’ve been wearing the brace lot. No you seriously didn’t miss much. There’s a few handouts I should photocopy and email to you. I’ll aim to do that this weekend. I want to reread it soon too. I’ve been trying to focus on my breath lots just to keep everything moving. My upper back is feeling better, but tonight it feels like he has moved to the centre of my ribs. Such a weird pain/sensation.

Thanks. The photocopies would be great! I am glad the brace is working for you. The rib kicking is not so fun eh? DW’s friend described the third trimester as “your ribs being rearranged, and a bowling ball slamming into your crotch”. I’d say it’s pretty accurate lol.

I went to the grocery store last night and he was on my bladder the whole time. I almost abandoned the mission but just took it slow and only got what I really needed.

He must be low already! Dumplin’s low too, and I have a really hard time fully emptying my bladder, so it feels like I have to pee all the time!

I can find pee relief. I just go all the time though. Last night wasn’t too bad. Only 3 nighttime pees I think. He seems to have shifted this morning so the ribs don’t hurt as much either.

That’s good. I’m peeing 6-8 times a night. Basically every time I roll over, I have the urge to pee. It’s terrible.

Normal night is probably 5 for me. I hope this does indicate baby’s schedule – especially in your case.

You look great, and are getting so close! I had no carpal tunnel problems while pregnant, but the repetitive motions needed to care for a baby brought on some pain initially. I’ve been very conscious of how I hold her, and it seems better.

Yes another friend of mine developed a form of tendinitis from repetitive baby movements. Definitely something to be mindful of.

So excited for you! Enjoy your nesting. 🙂 I had never heard of something called a booby trapper before. It looks useful.

I didn’t realize til I went on their site that it’s a Canadian brand. Basically, it’s just for nursing in public if you want to cover up.

I’m excited – you are drawing so close to the end of this chapter and start of the next! I’m very curious about the BodyTalk sessions and glad to hear you are taking some time for yourself.

I’m sure there’s got to be people where you live who do it. My city has an abundance of Bodytalk practioners. Many of them pull in a few modalities though. It’s hard to explain without having a session.

I had horrible carpel tunnel in the 3rd trimester. First it was just my right hand and then it turned into my left hand as well. Terrible. But I’m glad to report that it went away after birth! Well, about 2 weeks after birth it was completely gone.
