How Far Along: 7 weeks and 5 days
Meds: All taken daily – Prenatal, Omega + DHA, Folic Acid 1 mg, Vitamin D 2000mg, Vitamin B12, Probiotic, Estrace 400 mg, Prometrium 200mg, PIO 1ml.
The countdown is on: only 23 more days of ass shots!
Baby is the size of: a blueberry
Best Moment This Week: Passing our loss milestone of 7 weeks, 1 day. Finding out that baby has a heartbeat.
Total Weight Gain: Not sure?
Maternity Clothes: Like last week, on really bloated days my pants seem snug. I’ve been living in tights as much as possible. I snagged a pair of maternity comfy pants at Value Village for $5! I was surprised they even had a maternity section.
Stretch Marks: Nothing new.
Sleep: I’m still super tired in the evenings. We had a few late nights (11pm) this weekend and I paid for it the next day. Weekend naps are key. I’m a stomach sleeper. I’ve been trying to sleep with my snoogle to stay on my left side. This is proving to kinda work. I still toss and turn a bit. I’ve also been having cr-aaaaa-zy dreams lately.
Symptoms: Tired, sore boobs, slightly nauseous. I’ve had a few dry heaving moments in the morning. Not letting myself get hungry curbs the nausea. For some odd reason, Monday seems to be the worst day for symptoms. I was the most nauseous yesterday and the Monday before.
Food Cravings: Carbs. Just carbs. And fruit.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Eggs, seeing a man eat steak + eggs for breakfast, ground beef
Movement: Too early.
Baby Bump: Barely there.
Gender Prediction: BOY!
Labour Signs: Too early.
Belly Button In or Out?: Innie to start!
Wedding Rings on or off?: On.
Happy or Moody?: This past week, I had a few emotional moments due to family issues, but overall, I’m good. I was anxious when I had that bleeding, but I’ve been feeling content since we went to the OB.
Purchases for baby: We bought the Boon Naked baby bath tub from Marshalls for half price! It was the purple one (discontinued colour) hence the great deal. I also found two pregnancy books at Value Village.
Miss Anything?: Hot baths, sex… + yoga. I’m hoping after tomorrow’s scan I may get cleared to start my yoga practise again. Brie cheese, particularly the Brie + Apple + Chicken sandwich from Earls.
Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound TOMORROW at 7 weeks, 6 days. 🙂
Too funny–Mondays were “miserable Mondays” for me, too. As long as soft cheese is pasteurized you can eat it (in the US anything sold in stores is pasteurized) even soft cheeses–I was pleased to eat my goat cheese again 🙂
I’m giddy every time I read your updates! I want to call your baby Anuenue (ah new ay new ay) which means “rainbow” in Hawaiian ❤ XOXO

Awww I love that! I really want to get this onesie for him: http://www.cafepress.com/pregnancyafterlosssupportshop.1377100209 I’m totally looking into this cheese thing. If Brie is included, I may be convincing my husband to take me out for supper tonight. 🙂

This all sounds great. My advice: Get some maternity pants with the mid-height waist or just maternity pants with a stretchy band and no extra coverage at the top as you won’t need it for a little while. Gap Maternity (normally located in baby gap) is the best for pants and has wonderful sales. The thought of you squeezing into tight jeans made me physically uncomfortable, but I hate jeans! Be kind to yourself. 🙂
I got all my restrictions lifted after my 7 week appointment, and we’d broken the rules a couple of times already (regarding the no sex rule..and aerobics, and baths, and various other items). I’m hoping that they lift your restrictions, too, but I highly doubt a little bending of these silly rules will cause any adverse issues in your pregnancy.

Yes, I’m thinking I may do some light yoga tonight. My lower back is so tight from all the PIO shots. I’m freaked out to lift the sex restriction due to my bleed last week. I may just need some time to feel comfortable with that one again. I think Gap Maternity JUST came to Canada. Will have to see if our local store has any in stock yet, or even order a few online. I have a friend who is letting me try her maternity pants on this weekend. If they fit, I may have a few to get me started.

I am so happy you are doing well. And I am so excited for your update tomorrow!
As MLACS said, you can totally eat brie as like the USA almost all cheese in Canada is pasteurized. Just read and make sure it says pasteurized or milk as an ingredient. Anything using milk has been pasteurized. Our local cheese store gave me the run down, and it’s super easy to find safe cheeses. 🙂

This made my day. Thanks for the info. 🙂 my updates have been few and far between because I typically write my best at night but I’m asleep these days! I hope to find a new groove that works with this schedule.

Oh, and Earls will know if the cheese is pasteurized. Just ask.

Does Canada allow unpasteurized cheese? In America any cheese you buy is pasteurized or aged to the point to be safe for pregnant women, but I wasn’t sure about Canada.

This was one article I found: http://www.babycenter.ca/x3175/is-it-safe-to-eat-cheese-during-pregnancy I guess it depends where they source the soft cheese from.

I’d totally ask the restaurant-they would know if their cheese is pasteurized or not. Before I knew that all american cheese had to be pasteurized I asked all the restaurants I went to. I got some funny looks, but they all assured me they served only pasteurized cheese.

aaaand I just realized everyone already told you that.

Glad everything is going well, and that you might be able to have your favourite sammy at Earls! I figure, if your woman has pregnancy sickness, you take her wherever she wants to eat! Interesting that you were given restrictions. I was given none- basically just to “take it easy” whatever that means. I haven’t lifted weights (self-imposed restriction), but have been doing some cross country hiking in the snow with the dogs. I’m curious what restrictions they’ve given you- I think my clinic is just negligent.
Ok go eat some Brie already!

Pelvic rest until first official ultrasound – No sex, no exercise, etc. Once cleared, keep pulse below 120/min and no weights above 30-40 lbs. No saunas and hot tubs obviously.

No matter how many times I am told that pasteurized cheese is safe, I still feel guilty when I eat it. Not that it generally stops me from eating it. I think I would put feta cheese on just about everything if given the chance.
I hope your remaining 23 days of ass shots go smoothly. By 9/10 weeks, I was in TEARS at shot time. I started getting these awful welts that were so painful I could hardly sit. I still have some lingering nerve damage from those damn shots–numbness in parts of my hips. I will curse progesterone shots until the day I die.

My areas are knotted quite a bit right now. My husband always feels around to find a less painful spot. Last night, we were both wrong. Ouchie! I’m very much looking forward to being done with them too.

Thursday’s were my bad days lol. Funny how that works out. Glad you are trying out the snoogle, ironically it’s making me sleep on my back and I don’t know why! Yay for curbing the morning sickness, those candies should be to you soon and you’ll have to tell me if they help you.

Ohhh I almost forgot! I’ll keep an eye out. I’ve also rolled onto my back a few times with it too. I’ve just accepted I’ll never get a full night of sleep again. Haha

Love the updates 🙂 Hope exciting!! I am thrilled things look good so far 🙂 I agree with a previous post, the low panel mat pants are glorious for the early bloat! Can’t wait to hear how your u/s goes! Yippy!

I have been having the same soft cheese angst. Even if it is pasteurized I will probably be too paranoid to eat it!!! Sounds like all is well with you. I have a little pregnancy envy that you have embraced the bumpdates and have even made a few purchases. I keep deciding on milestones and then extending them. For example, “once we see a heartbeat, I will buy a pregnancy journal” … well, we saw a heartbeat today and I’m not rushing to make any purchases! Oooh I am so excited for you!!! Stay well!

That is exactly what in are my whole pregnancy! Bread and fruit (and brownies). I also ate Brie and goat cheese and never felt bad about it!! Enjoy this special time, it really will go by fast! I slept part of the night on my back until I delivered. No matter how many pillows I used to prop myself up, they ended up in the floor and me on my back, old habits die hard 🙂

Sleep in any position that is comfortable for you. Eventually, when tummy gets bigger, you’ll not want to sleep on your tummy (it will get uncomfortable), but it shouldn’t hurt anything until then. I am not a back sleeper, but that too is safe enough as you will automatically roll to a side if your blood pressure gets too low (again, more so when you are further long). Also, sleeping on your left side is best, but not absolute. I switch back and forth between left and right sides and there are no issues what so ever.
You can eat Brie, just make sure it is pasteurized! Oh, I’ve eaten tons of brie and blue cheese this pregnancy. lol And sushi, just no raw fish in it.
I wasn’t given any restrictions either after transfer or finding out I was pregnant. Maybe I was told to take it easy, as in no rough or heavy workouts, but I was lazy anyway. As for sauna…I’ve always gone to sauna (try telling Finnish women they can’t go to sauna).. However, I think the difference is, I’ve been going to sauna for years and it would be a bit different than just starting to go to sauna.
Try Sea Band for morning sickness. They don’t cost too much (20$?) and I found that they helped me!
