I am happy to announce they retrieved 29 eggs!!!!!!!!
I am pretty loopy and still drugged up right now.
My even better news is that WE CAN TRANSFER!
Dr H is comfortable with transferring. My estrogen dropped a bit yesterday. They’ve already given me a shot of HCG and my first intralipid IV. They’ve changed my protocol to PIO which means more injections. 😦 At this point in the game, I’ll take it if it increases my chances of a BFP. He made me promise that if I had any complications or signs of OHSS that I would stay in Victoria or even fly back. Obviously, I agreed.
Overally, I was very comfortable during the retrieval. Yes, there were a few pinches and painful points, but it was totally bearable.
My favourite part was when Dr. H said to the RN, “Ok let’s get this woman a drink!” – meaning inject my first round of sedation. It totally feels like you are coming down from a drunk.
Anyway, I’m going to sleep this drunk feeling off. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Me too! My estrogen did drop yesterday and it’s peak was 9,700. I’ve heard of way worse.

Excellent news! Can’t wait to hear the fertilization report. As someone who also had a big “harvest” be sure and take it easy for the next few days. The pain got me about 3 days past retrieval!

I’m glad I could help 🙂 What was your AMH at? Mine was considered low, so my RE was so suprised at how I responded. I want to confirm with him this week if he still considered me DOR or back to unexplained.

Mine was .7, but I always have plenty of antrals and good response with normal fsh, so I’m hoping my low AMH is just an anomaly. This gives me so much hope, to know low AMH can still give amazing results! 🙂 when do you get your fertilization report??

Oh, I should mention I’m in the US, so mine was measured in ngl, not pmol. I think it puts us in the same category, you at the high end and me mid-low.

I am so excited for your news! That’s a great number retrieved and I’m so glad you get to transfer after all! PIO shots aren’t fun – but they could be worse and it seems that most of us only had to do them through the first trimester. Good luck this week and hope more good news follows!

Yes, my husband was squirming to hear he has to do them. Any advice for him there?

Your doctor or nurse should show both of you the general area where they need to be injected. I had good luck alternating sides each night and trying to move it around all the time to minimize soreness. Mine didn’t really hurt until the last couple of weeks when I was having a hard time finding unused areas. That’s about all the advice I have about PIO shots!

I did all of them myself. My husband offered but I felt more comfortable stabbing myself with a needle than letting someone else do it.

I was freaked out at first but it didn’t end up being too bad. Mine were in the ass. I didn’t get an option of injecting anywhere else. I’ll be honest. Once I got my BFP the shots were nothing as I knew it was best for the baby. However when I got to 20 shots left I had a countdown going, lol.

Never that high at all. I usually had 1dominant one, maybe 2 during IUI with clomid.
